9th Grade Year Review

                                   9th Grade
My 9th grade year was amazingly boring and mellow . My 9th grade year was a year were i met many new people and teachers . Haters are always going to be there . My teachers are okay , i guess most teachers just stick to there job and not really cooperate with student like other but the ones that do are the ones known the most and the ones that just are mean to students and don't even teach suck ! Well those are my thoughts but my favorite teacher would be Mr.Walgenbach . He is pretty awesome . This school year was just nice . Friends were good and classes were good too . I guess through out the year it has been Awesome .

Final Exam : Career Awareness

QUESTIONS ?

1.  What does the author mean when he says, "money can buy you time, which is why we pay physicians and pharmaceutical companies after we have heart attacks"?

I think it might mean that people that have the hardest work or the people who work for the best get the more money .

2.  Reread the paragraph that starts "But 25% more pay is not the heart of the matter."  The author then says, "People who start businesses  are more likely to get rich than anyone else."  According to the author, why is this true?

It might be true because the people that work the most and are able to keep a business going and going the harder and harder you work the more money and money you get for that business

3.Explain in your owns words what the heading "The High Cost of Leisure" means given what has been covered so far in the article.

  Proxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0

6nbsp;          It was the major blessing of slave-ownership . The basis of  the good life .

4.  In what year in human history did productivity begin its "steady upward rise . . . of 2.5% per annum"?

Beginning in the mid 18th .

5.  What was Thomas Edison's contribution to "overcoming nature"?  How did his invention overcome nature?

He Overcame nature by inventing Air Conditions . The ancient ryhthms of night and day and the season have been overcome in homes and work places .

6.  According to the author, how do most of us overcome nature?

The battle with nature is not worth the extra effort . They want paid vacations . We overcome nature with tools not with not with hard physical labor .

7.  According to the author, why do most people don't like to work?

People do not like to work because they don't like their work .

8.  According to Dr. North, how many hours does it take for a person to become competent with something?  Divide that number by 365 and you will get the number of years it takes to be competent.  How many years does it take for someone to be competent at computer engineering or selling real estate?  How many years does it take for someone to be a master of a skill?

A bachelor's degree takes most people five years to earn. If we think of a work week as 40 hours, that's an investment of 50 x 40 x 5 = 10,000 hours. Knock off 30% for vacations, where you get a low-paying part-time job: so, 7,000 hours. When you graduate, you are not a master of anything except the ability to tolerate bore

9.  Gary North's article promotes and privileges creators over consumers.  He says, "What most people do not recognize early enough is that they should find employment in a field in which the compounding process produces a sense of personal achievement that lures them back into an ever-greater investment of their time. The compounding process is what produces success, but the front-end costs, especially psychological costs, keep out most people. They willingly serve as salary earners rather than creators."  What does he mean by the "compounding process"?

I think compounding process means for me , if you go for it knowing that its a better thing and opportunity for you its a better idea to take that than let it pass by and not do anything about it , just take the chance and hope it works out .

10.  In his section on "The Problem With Schools," Gary North says that great teachers are not allowed to multiply themselves.  What does he mean by multiplying one's self?

I think  it might mean as in multiply themselves as in shows more for themselves as others . To not get carried away with them being good teachers .

11.  According to Dr. North, who in the free-market is king and the person to whom we should serve?

Toastmaster International

12.  What lesson can you learn from the following story.  "There is a man in my church who owns and operates motels. Back in the 1980s, he was in college, earning a degree in physical education. He was also making $60,000 a year in the motel business. His coach told him to quit school. "You're making more money than I am. Why do you want to teach junior high school boys, whose parents will be on your back to give their kid more playing time?" He wisely dropped out of college."

I think it means to me that if i got a better opportunity and its a better idea for me not for others but for me then I should go for it leave things behind and just live for something i am good at .

All reports today as well as your eyes tell you that prices are going up: food prices, gas prices, copper, even diapers and toilet paper.  Write one paragraph explaining the advice that you would give someone to help them avoid these increases or take advantage of these increase?  Note here what has happened to the price of silver and gold.  In a second paragraph, explain which is a better way to make money today: putting your money in a bank or buying gold or silver?  Be clear and accurate in your explanation.

 * Well I do think prices are going up a lot and people are going crazy about that and don't know what to do . Things can change if people are smart about it . Everything people are buying are going up because those things are getting sold out , i think . Well If I were to give someone advise I would tell them to go with it because somethings don't change at all . Some people always try to buy more to keep but i don't think people should do that because your just waisting more money . I think things should not be this way because economy is going real bad . People just look for ways to get people's money . I think the best way to avoid these increases is to get stuff from storage's or just keep saving .

 * I think the best way to save money is by putting in your bank account but not buying gold or silver .  I think things shouldn't be this way . Sometimes people just can't save money so they waist it on other stuff they don't need . Sometimes people that buy gold or silver get a lot more by selling it but why would someone buy gold real expensive when they can get it cheaper from the person who sold the gold or silver at first . Some people may think gold is more valuable than silver or silver is more valuable than gold so things like that may start problems but if you just save a couple bucks a week in your bank account in a year you will have enough money for anything really . But if you waist your money on gold or silver your not really saving anything because everything is going to get waisted buying gold or silver again and again .
